True story... I discovered that Cliq Studios imports their cabinetry from China and they lie to consumers that this is All American Made.

They hide the fact that the wood which is used for their cabinets has been extensively treated with vast amount of formaldehyde and other contaminants to preserve the wood and have it last longer and not fall apart.

These cabinets are RTA arriving in large containers to the US.

Then at their Connersville, Indiana facility they get assembled. Again, they hide the fact that this facility has been deemed polluted/contaminated by the state of Indiana for ground carcinogenic pollutants/contaminants and from there it's delivered to unsuspected customers who will install these cabinets to your home and then go figure what happens if you are exposed to these kind of chemicals.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Preferred solution: Provide customers with disclosures about the product.

CliqStudios Cons: Quality.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota

You may be correct about various sources for raw materials, but its well documented that outside countries, especially China, use vast amounts of formaldehyde on their wood and drywall products. The reason these products are allowed to enter the States is because individually each product passes Government standards, however when these products are used in assembly...especially multiple cabinets in a kitchen design or various sheets of drywall in a home construction then there's the damaging exposure to formaldehyde!

Indiana? Minnesota?

As LEED-accredited architectural designer, I can tell you most cabinets (and anything made of wood composite/plywood) contain formaldehyde. The binding agent used to press the wood layers together contains trace amounts of urea formaldehyde, within limits regulated by federal and state government. If you the pure, real deal, go Amish.

Good readers,

I can confidently say that these claims are not true. CliqStudios cabinets does not sell RTA (Ready to Assemble) cabinets.

Our cabinets are semi-custom and our manufacturing processes and materials are consistent with the other North American semi-customer cabinet manufacturers. Our materials are specified to the same high standards and do not contain any additional formaldehyde or other contaminants. Additionally, our wood is Carb2 certified, which is among the most stringent regulations in the United States. Like the other U.S.

manufacturers, CliqStudios globally sources some materials and components from suppliers outside North America, including Europe and Asia. We do not resell cabinets made by any other manufacturer in order to ensure that all materials meet the high quality standards we have set. All of our cabinets are built one kitchen at a time in Indiana to meet the unique requirements of the customerโ€™s kitchen space, style, functional needs and their lifestyle. This sets us apart from other internet cabinet retailers.

We are very proud to be the company that has breathed new life into a former US automobile plant outside of Connersville, Indiana. We have restored this facility to beautiful modern factory in cooperation with Federal, State, County, and City governments. Together we have created a partnership that brought jobs back to an area that had lost thousands over the past decade. CliqStudios continues to grow because of our high quality and the incredible value we offer to American homeowners.

As we grow, we will continue to add employees to our Indiana plant as well as in our Minneapolis headquarters and design studios. CliqStudios is proud to be an ethical company committed to improving the remodeling experience with quality materials offered at a fair price.

If they REALLY are made in the USA, why don't you use the "Made In The U.S.A." Logo? Is it because you legally can't and know it?

Is it because you are only assembling parts and not actually manufacturing the parts? Isn't that what you REALLY mean when you say "CliqStudios globally sources some materials and components" and by "some" don't you really mean "most" or at least a vast majority that makes it illegal for you to say they are "made in the USA"???

The fact that you use shady language like...

"our manufacturing processes and materials are CONSISTANT"

"do not contain any ADDITIONAL formaldehyde"

... says volumes about what the truth really is!

I had a bad experience with this company detailed in a long letter to them. I didn't even get the courtesy of a response.

Youโ€™re either an *** who didnโ€™t research the cheap cabinets you decided to purchase or one of the many large semi-custom cabinet manufacturers that compete against this product line. All the KCMA semi-custom cabinet manufacturers have to use certified/regulated materials.

So either do your research and pay more for want you want.

Or shut your mouth and accept what you paid for.

Considering my company sells to the majority of these manufacturers and are very familiar with the ones we donโ€™t, Iโ€™d say youโ€™re our of your element (Donny) or a scorned competitor
